When We Free the World
Kevin Powell’s first documentary film as director. When We Free the World is a deep dive into manhood, into fatherhood, through the lens of Black men and Black boys. It will tackle everything from Black Lives Matters to #MeToomovement, to mental health and violence, to hope and solutions toward having healthy definitions of manhood.

Biography
Kevin Powell is one of the most celebrated political, cultural, literary, and hip-hop voices in America. Born and raised in Jersey City NJ to a single mother, absent father, horrific poverty, and violence, Powell has triumphed in life and is the author of 15 books.
